  • Registration on the Smart Trips website and use of the trip diary are designed to be intuitive and self-explanatory. Below are instructions in case any of your employees need extra help. We suggest copying the specific directions needed to share with them and pasting them into an email.

    New User Sign-Up

    1. On the home page, click New User.
    2. Complete the questions on the New User Registration page.
    3. Complete questions on the New User Survey page.
    4. Record trips on Trip Diary page.

    Returning Users

    1. Enter email address and password on the Home page.*
    2. Record trips on Trip Diary page.
    3. *If employee can’t remember their password, they should follow directions for resetting it.

    Helping an Employee Change their Employer on Existing Account

    Employee must be logged into their Smart Trips account.

    1. In the upper right-hand corner, employee clicks on My Account for the dropdown menu.
    2. On dropdown menu choose Update Account.
    3. Under Employer at the bottom of the page, click the down arrow and scroll until current employer is found.

    Users Who Have Forgotten Their Password

    1. On the home page, click I forgot my password.
    2. Get new randomly-generated password from email message.
    3. Enter email address and new password on the Home page.
    4. On Trip Diary page, click My Personal Data.
    5. Change randomly generated password to something easier to remember.
    6. Record trips on the Trip Diary page.

    Recording Trips

    1. On the Trip Diary page, click the calendar on a day you made a Smart Trip.
    2. Complete the questions in the pop-up form. Use Auto Fill options to copy trips that are made repeatedly.
    3. Click on calendar days to edit or delete trips previously recorded.
    4. Click View Your Results and Prize Status.
    5. Click Logout on Results/Prize Status page or on sidebar menu.

    Other Useful Information

    • arrow right It’s helpful if pop-up blockers are turned off.
    • arrow right The New User Registration page is where participants:
      • Choose which trips will be seen by their STC
      • Ask for monthly email reminders
      • Tell us that they are WWU students
    • arrow right Smart Trip makers must have an email address to use the online trip diary. Otherwise, they must complete paper entry forms.
    • arrow right Registered users can change any of their registration information by clicking Edit My Personal Data on the Trip Diary page.
    • arrow right Once logged in users can navigate throughout the website and remain logged in. Sign Out button is above the main Tab header menu.
